The Practice in London

The Practice in London

Surgery One´s concept is as simple as it is efficient: providing high quality treatment and advice and for reasonable fees. In expensive London environment this seems to be a difficult task. However, if you cut out the middle man, cut overheads, don’t spend too much money on advertising but rather grow by word off mouth, it can be done.

Consequently, Surgery One has only highly qualified staff, which doesn’t do hard sales for ethical reason. A business based on word of mouth is only possible, if you – the patient - are happy enough to recommend us further. If you are pushed to something beyond your own wishes, you are not likely to be satisfied later on. Also, doing a good job does not only make the patient happy, but also all staff members involved. This too is important.

The Consultation

The consultation is meant to answer all your questions and establish your needs or best options, and is not binding in any way to go further. The cosmetic surgery / treatment consultation should shed light on the confusing and often wrong information distributed via the media, and educate you to have a realistic view.

Listen carefully to your surgeon’s advice on what seems doable and what seems not, also follow his/her post operative instructions. Only because some patients got away with not following postoperative instructions, or by changing them according to their own ideas, does not mean it would work for you as well. Tiny differences in technique have important implications on the healing process (many surgeons use different techniques) and this is where you can contribute towards having a good result by taking the postoperative advice seriously.

The Hospital

Mr Stefan Gonschior holds most of his consultations at the newly revamped ODP of the prestigious Highgate Hospital in north London (Highgate). However bookings should be made exclusively via Surgery One.

In order to keep things simple, all operations are done in main theatres of the Highgate Hospital. This is for two reason:

  • Mr Stefan Gonschior likes the set up very much and it is important that the cosmetic surgeon feels comfortable where he does his work;
  • after the consultation you will know where to go for treatment / operation, and you will feel familiar with the place on the “big day” when most people are quite nervous anyway.

Most of the aftercare (removing of bandages, taking stitches out in case that they are non resorbable, routine follow up appointments) again will happen at the same location.
